Yan Duyvendak
Une soirée pour nous

>Performance

>1th oct. Nuit Blanche | Maison de la Villette | 9.45 pm | 15 min

The performance mixes an international zapping with Celion Dion’s concert in Paris which was dedicated to her manager and husband René, suffering from cancer. During the concert at the Stade de France, Céline Dion shared her intimacy with René with the spectators in speaking to him live during the show while René’s image was shown on giant screens in real time, thanks to “the miracle of science”. Yan Duyvendak becomes Céline Dion, a character that inspires both aversion and fascination, capable of making her public cry for worse.
The emotions she plays on are suddenly interrupted by the most insignificant images of the audio & visual landscape: weather forecast, ads, etc. We are suddenly faced with our own consumption of emotions.
Yan Duyvendak was born in the Netherlands and currently lives in Geneva and Barcelona. Trained at the Geneva School of visual arts, he has worked as a performer since 1995; His performances are shown on a regular basis.
