Collective art group Anatomic comes from the new art scene of Catalonia and is here to present Rotten, the group’s latest achievement which has been very successful is Barcelona this year. The multimedia show is surprising and unconventional; it is based on the thousands of possibilities the information and communication society offers, and on the somewhat incoherent and excessive use that is sometimes made of it. Rotten sets the spectator on a trip to a whimsical imaginary world full of hope, happiness, and decadence. Alone, a man tells about his life, one he lived along a woman he doesn’t love anymore and a child he never wanted. Woozily, reality and fiction begin to merge and become a series of interactive performances through which spectators discover the character in depth.
There is nothing but a computer behind the stage; actors alone are in charge of the audio and visual controls of the play via their wireless PDAs.
Rotten is an Anatomic achievement; the collective art group gathers multidisciplinary artists (IT engineers, computer artists, draftsmen, VJs, actors, etc.) Over the last five years, Anatomic has developed the Igloo software, a modular programme opening new ways to applying new technologies to performing arts. Rotten is the first stage experience that was enabled by this new tool.
Co-production : Antic Teatre (Semolina Tomic & Josefina Sabater), El mercat de las flors and Emotique.
