EMERGENCES 2008 : LET'S GO !

Like last year, Emergences’ artistic programmation evolves around SmartCity.

SmartCity is a European project with a focus on production and artistic distribution. At the forefront of new practices and technological innovation, SmartCity investigates new possibilities of artistic intervention in the urban space and offers an alternative vision of a balanced and sustainable city, focused on the citizen.

The festival has chosen this year to deal with urban activism and the role of artists and citizens in the city construction. SmartCity programme is inspired from unusual, antiauthority, non violent and sometimes playful actions, which have been rising for a while in big metropolises. Groups as "Jeudi Noir", "Robins des Toits", "Les brigades activistes de clowns", or "Clan du néon" are initiators of this kind of actions.

Between urban planning, architecture, activism, sociology, visual arts and multimedia creation, festival activities take place in 2008 in two territories: the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris and the Parc de la Villette.

The programme features an international conference on September 30th at the Cité Internationale, a series of workshops and artistic experiments on the territories of the Cité Internationale and the Parc de la Villette taking place during September.

Calls for proposals

The call for projects 2008 is already closed. You were many to send us your propositions and we thank you for it. The selection is in progress. The answers will be communicated in the course of July.
Within the framework of our permanent artwatch and next festival, you can thus continue to send us your propositions.

Specific call for proposals

Besides, Dedale appeals to specific projects in partnership with the CitéCulture / Cité internationale universitaire de Paris.
